Announcement
New Scholarship Fund for Drug Policy Reform Conference - August 11, 2025
In The Works is thrilled to launch our new conference scholarship fund to honor the legacy of learning and advocacy of our late colleagues.
Our origin story goes back to the mid 2000s at then Washington Heights CORNER Project (now OnPoint NYC) where we worked together to build out harm reduction services in Northern Manhattan. Many lessons learned later, we formed In The Works to create the tools we wished we would have had to grow our organization when we were busy running packed drop-in centers and sprinting around to different outreach locations.
Part of our value system has always been to give back through tangible resources to support the newer generations of harm reduction providers to thrive.
We’re announcing 3 scholarship opportunities to attend the Drug Policy Alliance Reform Conference hosted in Detroit, MI, from November 12-15th, 2025.
We’ll cover the costs of registration, hotel, travel, and meals, up to a maximum of $2,000 each. We know that this conference is not just a great learning experience, but a necessary break from the day-to-day to be in community with other harm reduction advocates who are on the frontlines – especially right now.

Support to Attend
As a team, we used to bring our whole crew from CORNER Project to attend conferences for team building, networking, a break, and some fun. And having that social support at the conference was really important for safety and logistics. We are encouraging individuals who would like to attend to share a bit more about what they want to get out of the experience and information about logistics and social support to plan ahead.
We look forward to learning more about your work and can’t wait to meet all 3 of you in-person in Detroit!
Warmly,
Taeko, Sarah, & Hector
